Modern memorials are made from granite. However, we can source other types of natural stone if required.
This varies depending on the cemetery. Roselawn, the Blaris Road Extension and the new part of Redburn Cemeteries already have a foundation in place, therefore the memorial can be erected as soon as the plans are passed. Some churches require 6 months for the ground to settle.
No. The quotation given will include the cost of the memorial, all lettering, fitting and VAT and any church/council fees. Each amount is shown separately on the quotation and invoice.
In almost all circumstances additional inscriptions are done on site. In exceptional cases where fine artwork is required, we may need to remove the headstone and add the artwork indoors.
The lettering will last forever, however over time the paint/gold will fade and require repainting/re-gilding.
We only use 18 carat gold leaf on our memorials.
Providing the image and/or text fits on the monument, is of high quality resolution (for images), and does not contain offensive content, we can add a variety of items to your chosen personalised monument. We have examples of our work at our showroom if you would like ideas or inspiration. You can also call us if you are unsure.
We are fully authorised with Belfast City Council and have agreed to the Belfast Code of Memorial Safe Working Practice Policy to ensure all monuments are installed correctly.
Depending on the level of repairs required, we would be happy to work with you to restore your monument to its former glory. If damage is severe, we might recommend a like-for-like replacement as an alternative. Our skilled sculptors will do their best to recreate the monument exactly how it was, or update the design if preferred.
We're able to offer a wide range of colours and colour combinations, from traditional looks to more contemporary designs. Images can be applied to monuments in both single-colour (black/white) and full colour as you require. We can also incorporate metallic finishes onto text.
